Launch & purchase

Is Japanese Ramen Simulator out and playable now?

OFFICIALYes. It launched in Steam Early Access on 2026-10-09 (worldwide 08:00 UTC). The Day 1 update v0.1.48.17626 shipped the same day per official Steam news. You need a Windows PC and a Steam purchase — this is not a pre-order wait.

How long will Early Access last?

OFFICIALThe Steam store page says the team plans about 6 months in Early Access, but that schedule may change. Wild Dog’s Day 1 post says they will keep updating from player feedback — no fixed exit date is listed.

Price and launch discount?

OFFICIALUS list price is $14.99; the October 6 launch announcement set a -15% sale at $12.74 (Japan ¥1900 → ¥1615). Other currencies follow your Steam store; official posts did not state when the discount ends.

Platforms and supported languages?

OFFICIALSteam lists Windows PC only (no macOS/Linux in the store categories we checked). UI supports 10 languages; full voice-over is Japanese only per the store page. Modes include single-player and online co-op (up to six players).

Steam Deck verified?

OFFICIALOn our 2026-10-10 store check the page did not show Steam Deck Verified or Playable badges — we have not seen official Deck certification. Minimum specs are desktop-class (GTX 1060 / RX 580, 8 GB RAM); handheld performance is unconfirmed.

Minimum PC requirements?

OFFICIALMinimum (store): Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1060 or RX 580 with 6 GB VRAM, DirectX 11, broadband internet, 10 GB storage. Recommended: Windows 11, Core i7, 16 GB, GTX 1660 or R9 390X (6 GB+ VRAM), DirectX 12.

Does Steam Family Sharing work?

OFFICIALFamily Sharing appears among supported Steam features on the store page. Sharing follows Valve’s normal Steam Family rules — we have not seen separate in-game sharing settings documented by the developer.

Is there Steam Workshop / mods?

OFFICIALSteam store categories do not include Steam Workshop as of our 2026-10-10 check. There is no official mod workshop listed for the game right now — do not assume Workshop support.

Multiplayer

How many players in co-op?

OFFICIALThe Steam store description caps online co-op at six players. You can also run the shop solo and hire NPC part-time staff instead of filling seats with friends.

Why can’t I join or invite (connection timeout)?

PLAYER REPORTMultiple Steam discussions report MEN-MP-CONNECTION-TIMEOUT with advice to disable VPN and ensure firewalls are not blocking Steam or the game — player reports we have not reproduced. Day 1 patch v0.1.48.17626 (official) now shows failure cause, suggested fixes, error codes, and retries invite-code lookup when a room is temporarily missing. Multiplayer troubleshooting →

Public lobby or matchmaking with strangers?

PLAYER REPORTStore text describes friend-based online co-op (invites), not a public browser. Players looking for random matchmaking report disappointment — we have not seen an official public queue or skill-based matchmaking system documented.

Is there voice chat?

OFFICIALThe store page mentions spatial voice where distance and walls affect how you hear other players — positional in-game voice, not a named third-party service. Day 1 notes (official) say mute and push-to-talk settings apply immediately after joining multiplayer.

Solo & offline

Can I hire staff while playing solo?

OFFICIALOfficial store copy says you can play solo and hire part-time NPC staff. The Day 1 update added dish-clearing staff to pick up plates, trays, and empty drink bottles so you can focus on cooking. Solo play guide →

Can I play offline?

PLAYER REPORTThe developer has not clearly confirmed offline solo play in sources we track; Steam discussions had no official reply on this as of our 2026-10-10 snapshot. Minimum specs list broadband internet; online co-op requires a live connection — treat full offline mode as unconfirmed.

Saving and Steam Cloud?

OFFICIALStore features include Save Anytime and Steam Cloud. That means you can save during a shift and Steam can sync supported saves across PCs under Valve’s usual Cloud rules — we only assert what the store lists, not every edge case. Save location & Steam Cloud →

Controls & settings

The game opens in Japanese — how do I change language?

PLAYER REPORTPlayer reports say the first boot menu may stay in Japanese even though ten UI languages are on the store page. Switch display language in Settings / Options — Wild Dog has not published exact menu paths. Update v0.1.50.17746 (official) makes Auto pick English when your PC language is unsupported. Full voiced dialogue remains Japanese-only per the store listing. Language settings guide →

Controller / gamepad support?

OFFICIALSteam lists Partial Controller Support — not full parity on every screen. Day 1 patch notes (official) add gamepad QoL such as scrolling newly unlocked items with the right stick; some UI (My Designs, photo screens) had gamepad fixes in the same update.

HUD scale limit?

OFFICIALDay 1 update v0.1.48.17626 (official patch notes) raised the maximum HUD scale to 1.3, adjustable in 0.1 steps. If text still clips in your language, report it — some language overflow bugs were fixed in the same patch.

Missing graphics toggles (e.g., chromatic aberration)?

PLAYER REPORTSteam players report wanting toggles such as disabling chromatic aberration — community feedback we have not verified against a public option list. Official Day 1 notes we cite focus on gameplay fixes, not a complete graphics menu changelog.

Crashes with FSR or frame generation?

OFFICIALDay 1 patch v0.1.48.17626 lists fixes for bugs related to FSR initialization and frame generation that could crash the game — official stability notes. Update to the latest build on Steam; if crashes continue, post logs on Steam discussions for the team.

Gameplay systems

Tutorial stuck on day one?

OFFICIALDay 1 fixed a soft-lock if you already served nori ramen or the second customer was eating when the first-day tutorial expected earlier steps — official bug-fix note. Doing steps out of order can still stall other tutorials; pause-menu skip remains a fallback some players use. Tutorial stuck guide →

How does the handcart work after Day 1?

OFFICIALOfficial Day 1 notes widened handcart handle range, tuned acceleration/turning/braking, made reverse steering follow input, stopped seated customers reacting to cart contact, and reduced accidental disengagement near steps — plus fewer items sinking through floors. Player feel reports may still vary post-patch. Handcart guide →

Can I turn off thieves?

PLAYER REPORTPlayers asked for a thief on/off switch in discussions — we have not seen an official toggle in store copy or Day 1 patch notes. Day 1 only fixed repelling thieves who already left the shop after stealing (official bug fix), not a disable option.

Beer scoring — foam and fill level?

OFFICIALDay 1 rules (official): if beer plus foam is 70% or less of the mug capacity, you lose points for insufficient beer. Serving without foam triggers a warning comment, but lacking foam alone does not deduct points. Tantan-tare-only ramen also gets its own comment line. Beer pouring guide →

What is “My Ramen”?

OFFICIALOfficial Day 1 notes reference My Ramen requirement checks, completion prompts, and a photo registration screen (including exposure/HUD fixes). We do not list shop unlock levels that are not in official tables — treat it as the game’s ramen photo / criteria feature, not a separate mode we invented.

Who are the boss customers?

OFFICIALSteam achievement conditions name four boss customers: Ramen Critic, Wealthy Customer, Monk, and True Ramen Critic — official achievement text. Day 1 added a cash reward the first time you clear each boss customer. See our achievements page for names and live unlock rates. Achievements list →

When does tantanmen unlock?

OFFICIALDay 1 added Tantanmen: purchase Tantan Tare and garlic chives at shop Lv.26; chicken/pork broth tantanmen orders at Lv.26; beef broth orders at Lv.28 — official unlock table in the Day 1 post. Balance shifts later may appear on the changelog. Changelog →

What does dish-clearing staff do?

OFFICIALAdded in Day 1 (official): they collect dirty plates and trays, pick up empty drink bottles from vacated seats, can throw dirty dishes into the dishwasher plate rack, store trays from upper slots, and dispose of bottles after returning — so you can stay on the line.

Do Easy/Normal pay more after Day 1?

OFFICIALDay 1 balance (official): for the same order and rating, Easy pays ×1.4 (+40%) and Normal ×1.2 (+20%) versus prior amounts; Hard and Very Hard unchanged. This is a patch balance note, not a player rumor.

Achievements

How many Steam achievements?

OFFICIALThe Steam store lists 18 achievements as of our 2026-10-10 snapshot. Unlock percentages change daily — use our achievements page for live rates and condition text, not static guesses. Achievements & rates →
